Has anyone wired in there own light on a 2010yz450f? Or is everyone buying a kit from Cyclops or other vendors? I am currently looking at the penetrator 610 kit. It says it comes with a light switch, mount and wire harness. Is the harness just plug into the bikes power and then to the switch or does it have any fuses etc inline? Also curious how much these new FI bikes put out for electrical power? Thanks

We had a 310 and a 610 on 2 different 2010 YZ's last season, just plugs into stock harness. worked great. just need to turn switch off when restarting bike. too make it easier. will start with switch on. just harder to start. well worth the money.

HI Oscar
The penetrator series is a plug and play on all EFI bikes, They are bike specific. We are currently redoing the website so some updates on what bikes the lights will work on has been delayed. That should be complete this week.
Several great dealers can set you up.
As far as how much power is available its not much, that's why the low power draw of the led is the way to go. I've seen Fuel pump issues with pulling 50 watts. The 600 series pulls 30 watts

At a local shop they are selling a lumenator light bar that pulls 40w and 3.34a. Seems like it specs out rather close to the penetrator other than it pulls 40w and not 30. But its only the light with no wire harness or switch. I could wire a switch to the light from the bikes power I do believe. I guess I would like to see some more in depth photos of the 610 kit once the website is updated before I make up my mind.

cyclops is amazing

i run the 310 and buddy runs 610. these units are nearly indestructable. 610 took a hit to a tree that broke handle bars off bike and only got heavy scratches. We also run helmet lights form cyclops again very good stuff. Darrel is a great guy too. Go Cyclops!!

More chinease crap.

The luminator products are inferior Chinese copies and they will or already have receive cease and desist orders.
Buy cheap get cheap, where are you going to go for warranty in a year when they are long gone?
Sorry This is a serious issue within the US lighting suppliers right now. but its the way it is, Chinese junk is everywhere you look in LED lighting. Most cant tell the difference until they see the real thing or never realize it until its too late. after that what did you save $50 bucks?

The Baja designs Squadron is what I run on my 2012 KTM 500EXC and it is bright as heck :face-icon-small-hap

SII LED Motorcycle Light is all you need.

Great light that we also offer. However, There is quite a bit of difference in light quality from the BD Squadron and the Penetrator 600 series.
Looking at specs is not a real world comparison.
Focused Quality light allows for a more usable light than scattered abundance of light.
Its also really nice to use the # plate area for storage.
Since your local why not come for a night ride with a few of us this season?

I was not aware that the luminator products were Chinese copies. I just knew I wanted a light for my bike and saw that one which is why I had questions and figured you guys could help me out. Not against going on a night ride sometime with you guys. Looks like I will be calling Cyclops for a light. Thanks

Thanks Oscar
I really hate to call them out, but all of the US Based manufactures are fighting the Chinese ripoffs very hard. As a consumer most would never know and in turn they give all LED lights a bad name.
In many cases,The guys buying this stuff from alibaba and attempting to make a brand don't even realize they are breaking trade laws.

Here is a photo of the 610 on a sled, the amber is a reflection from the windscreen caught from the camera, We didn't see it in person.

Yes off road rider I could be up for a night ride, we should do that for sure. BD light setup had a high low option for my dual sport and fit in my existing plate so that's why I went with that option.

I gave Darryl a call this afternoon to talk with him about lights. And I ended up buying combo light from him. After talking to him a little bit I would rather spend my money wisely with him than something else. Sounds like a great guy to work with. Looking forward to having a light this year on my bike. Thanks again

Bought my light last year from off road rider, think its the 610. Works extremely well. Installed on a 2011 YZ. Was well worth the money, when a young snowbiker in our group got lost and we were out after dark. I needed to get to our truck and notify search and rescue. Since I had a light, I was able to ride solo, down the trail, and get help. Without it, I would have been worthless, and have to follow a sled down the trail. He showed up, when other bikers led him to us.

I got a chance today to install my light that I had bought. I am 100% satisfied with this light. For such a small light it is amazing how bright it actually is. The wiring harness is top notch. If anyone is looking for a light I highly recommend one of these lights. Thanks again

A quick thumbs up for the Penetrator from Darryl at Cyclops. I bought a Penetrator 625 (same as the 610 with a slightly wider spread) near the end of last season and never really got to try it in a situation where it was really dark. Well this weekend I got to ride some single track in pitch black darkness. Even without a helmet light, I was able to ride close to day time speed. It worked so well, that eventually my riding buddy just rode in front of me and let me light the way for both of us. Can't wait to try it in the snow now.

If you run handguards, I found a way to mount the light such that it is out front of the all your cables and securely mounted. Find a piece of 3/4" angle and span it between your inner handguard mounts. You can then mount your light to the angle. If you need to space the angle out further to avoid pinching cables (I did on my KTM) replace your inner handguard mounting bolts (usually M8) and with longer bolts (I used 50mm bolts). Then install the longer bolts with a couple couple nuts to adjust the spacing.

Thanks! Glad to hear. Are you referring to the pro moto handguards?
Im running cycras with no mods needed. I have a set of the PMB guards on the way to check out.

For my mount, you can use any type of handguards as long as you have good handguard mounts. Here's a quick sketch to show what I did for a mount, which lets you set the forward spacing.

Thanks I guess I don't understand why our mount didn't work as is for you?
Do you have the fastway guards?

It's not that it didn't work, it's that it didn't work well for my particular situation for a few reasons. (In no particular order) The first issue was that front brake line (KTM) ran in front of the light and rubbed akwardly on the light. The second was that I didn't have the range of vertical adjustment I wanted even after bending the supplied mounting plate. Third was that I usually run my GPS in the middle of my bars and the light was in the way.
