headlight delete

hi guys , a little carnage this weekend , now I am looking at a headlight delete , now with the head lights gone , do I need anything electronically to resist power or use power that the stator is making, or just unplug the lights and no big deal , ride on ????

resistor details please. I have read a hundred threads on this subject and not one time did i see anthing telling what size resistor to use and where to install.
I almost feel like its a BS call on needing them because there has never been any solid proof that there needed on the M7's.
 
Its a 100 watt 2 ohm i beleive when i used them on my polaris it plugged into the voltage regulater and was then grounded. Not sure on the cats and what years. When i called BD about it oh ya you had to have it then the next guy there says well you dont really need it but its good insurance. So who knows i have a 09 i run with no hood or my mini hood as it were no issues so far.

Even the M7's it wasn't guaranteed you'd have a problem, I know many that rode without hoods or lights, and never had an issue... BUT it wasn't exactly rare either.

most I know added handwarmers & never had a problem.

This was fixed back in 07, and there are thousands of sleds from then to now that run without lights & have zero issues.
