Headlight delete....Do i need to run a resistor or a set of hand warmers to simulate

As the title says, so i need to replace the headlight when deleting it with a load of some kind? On race sleds we have used a set of handwarmers wrapped around the steering hoop. What are you guys doing on the dragon 800s?

of coarse i dont have an 800, but dont have headlights on 2 of my RMK 900s...

i have the Boondockers Resistor on one, and i just got this one from a fellow snowester...great quality and just as good as the boondockers for half the price

i called carls cycle to ask them, they had a case or two of resistors not working on late model 800s
not saying it wont work, just passing along info
im not sure i believe that resistors wont work just fine but giving a heads up, they work fine on 900s
i just got two trailtech lights and they rock, cant wait to test them out

Heres a twist, if i run a set of piaa lights will i still need the resister? Im not 100% sure the watt draw on them but i assume it will be atleast half the 100watts the headlight takes.
Maybe ill have to start looking at my piaa light options and ill answer my own question....lol

well you dont want o run the lights and the resistor of coarse...that will fry your stator in seconds, lol.

but i am sure the lights are pretty close to 50w each..

i got a set of cheap lights from walmart to run eventually and they are each 50w and they are tiny!

PIAA lights would look pretty sick i think...

as long as they draw 100w in total you should be ok
i just got a skinz hood, i was going to go without lights and run a resistor but carls cycle wasnt sure, they did know running aftermarket lights was ok tho.
piaa's are nice, mountainhorse recommended me the trailtech lights and after looking at them a bit i think they are better for sleds than the piaa lights.
