Headlight Cover Decals, anyone tried them in the dark yet?

Looking to get a set of white headlight cover decals for my '11 RMK and I am wondering if anyone has any firsthand experiences with how much light they really let through in the dark. I'm looking at the ones on ArcticFX's website that claim to only block 20-30% of light. There are some on eBay that claim to allow 90% of the light through and are $10 cheaper than the ArcticFX ones, but I know ArcticFX has a very good reputation and a high quality product.

Anyone with some experience please feel free to share your experiences! Thanks!

Not on a pro but they worked fine on my freeride last year! had no complaints and at night they let plenty of light through in my opinion.

Just ordered some in White. We'll see what the difference is when they get here. I guess if there is a big difference I'll just have to peel them off, excited to get them though.

I just got my white ones in today, put them on and ran the sled just in the shop. From what I can tell in the short period of time I had it running was that when the headlight is on, I can't tell there is hardly anything on there and I'm sure that someone that didn't know what to look for would never notice. When the light is off, the white is clearly visible. This is my experience with the WHITE ones, any other color may have a different effect with the lights.

I would have taken some pictures but my phone died just as I was getting done. I'll work on that for tomorrow.

Jordan at ArcticFX told me to stay away from black. He said they just didn't work too good. So I'm flirting with white and red to see which I like better. The problem with his red ones are that they are very light. Almost pinkish in color.

I put the ones on that are the same design as my wrap and I can't tell a difference between with them on and without them. I feel they still allow plenty of light through them. Here's a couple pics of them and these are without the camera flash too.

I have a set of the red eyeball decals I purchased of ebay. They look great and don't seem to block much if any light, when the sled is running you can't even see them. I only ride with high beams also.

Just went to the local sign shot and got some white perforated vinyl. Haven't been able to start it up yet but looking at the above pics, it should be decent for night riding.

^^^ Those look KILLER! The white looks "thicker" on your headlight than mine does.

I see you're from MN too, any idea what the legal situation is on headlight covers? I'm not real concerned about it, just curious.

Thanks Chad and good question.

I'm not sure about the legal restrictions here in MN. I want to start it up and see if its even noticeable but can't until I get my top end back.

I am thinking with the white, it will hardly be even noticeable when the sled is running. My thought is that as long as I don't run a blue or red light on the headlights (i.e. emergency vehicles), I should be fine. Guess I will find out this winter but I don't expect any problems as long as I have my registration numbers clearly visible and keep the exhaust noise to a minimum.

That was part of the reason I went with the white ones was to avoid any more reason hassle because I'm having a tough time trying to find a spot to put my registration decals (my 22 piece vent kit I built took up panel space) and I have a can on mine.
