headlight and speedo removal kit

ok so yesterday my cables layed on the pipe all day and the melted so i want to remove them. do the light and speedo come out the same. what should i use to cover the hole. can i put like a cover that lets in some air and snaps on and off or will the snaps not work on the hood. is what cables go to just the head light.

1-Open the hood
2-Trace out where the wires go
3-Un hook the unwanted wires
4-Un scew spedo cable
5-Close hood

In the amount of time it took you to post on here you could have been done.

remove light

remove the four screws in the corners of the light.

cut a piece of something (aluminum, old windshield, etc) to slightly bigger than offending hole.

hold it up behind the hole, take a sharpe marker, mark the headlight screw holes on the "plug".

drill these out.

hold the "plug" back behind the light hole, fasten in place (rivets, bolts, etc)

repeat said process for the speedo hole. I personally used screen on the speedo hole for more airflow for the engine in deep powder. I also made more inlets into the airbox for this purpose.

Now git er done!

make sure to only take out the ones you don't need. My cables melted and it affect my break lights, bar warmers and headlight and gauges. some you don't need oil light and temp light would be helpful to not just cut out.

Its not a real good idea to just unhook everything like that. Without anything at all drawing power its pretty hard on the electrical system you risk burning up your stator. I would look into fixing the wires before just removing all that. It cant be that bad to fix. Pull the loom off the wires and check to see how bad they are then fix them. A soldering iron and a roll of wire goes a long way.
