Header wrap stock pipe... thoughts?

I always was a big believer in wrapping my turbo pipe. It seemed to do a great job keeping things from melting, but also more consistent performance and a pipe that got hot faster. I’d love to know what some of the smart guys on here have to say about a pipe that gets hot faster and stays hotter between periods of cruising one stopping for a few minutes.

My train of thought from experience is:
-more consistent pipe temp equals more consistent clutching
-better engine response with a hot pipe after a short break or ski tug

I’d assume a wrapped pipe will heat up faster and retain heat better than the stock insulation, but what do others think?

Indy Dan, TRS, ADDIE? Any thoughts?

Wrapped pipes was always a think back in the day on turbos. Or is it just not worth the 200-300 in supplies to bother testing?

I asked the SW cru about the same thing a couple years back and all I got is its not worth it. I was wondering about a tuned pipe {ceramic coated} also and it was the same response. seems like the wrap would do just what you described and it always seemed like a tuned, coated pipe would have a better flow to spool up the turbo faster but never tried ether do to the responses that their was little to gain and lots of cash to spend......
