headed to south fork 3/14-3/16 conditions?

Got Scratchers?

Can you boondock in your concrete driveway?

Park Creek Road is "closed" to sledders...they are plowing it to the mine.

IF and ONLY IF they get it plowed clear to the mine will you want to try the park creek road... I don't have a status on this as of now.

Best bet... Stay highest in elevation as possible... got to 35 here today...

There was 3 pieces of heavy equipment moving mountains of snow on the park creek road both Saturday and Sunday. They were nice guys, did'nt seem bothered by our passing. It was unbelievably deep on the road. On Saturday they only got about 1/2 a mile cleared in a 10 hour work day. 2 D6 Dozers and a blade. There is alot of white stuff up there!

Absolutely no signs that said the road was closed.

And on our way down we stopped and talked to a guy from the US forest services and was very cool, he asked how the avalanche conditions seemed to be and had no problem with us snowmobilers. As for concrete not a chance set up sure but one day had 4+ inches fluff the next was 6+ inches in the worst areas.

sorry if I misunderstood you when you said the road was "closed to sledders"

It sounded as if you implying that you were not allowed to drive up the road if you were going sledding, until they had it completely finished.

Tudizzle...

You bring up a great point here.. You CAN stll go up the park creek road either by vehicle or sled... HOWEVER, if you go by sled form 160, you won't be happy (i'm sure).. and as for a place to park/turn around... GOOD LUCK (especially with a bigger rig.....)

I know colorado logger prefers having the road plowed.. but for me, leave the darn thing unplowed and make the GOVERNMENT buy a sled to go in and flip the switch that they just HAVE TO HAVE TURNED ON....

They don't need to go buy a sled, they can just pay me to go flip the switch. It would be a bargain also, I'd only charge them half of what it currently costs to plow it.:D

How is it coming in from Del Norte right now?

I think that Idareyou and his buddies are coming in from that side anyway

FYI we turn around a 24ft trailer and a crew crab on that road all the time.

They do tend to cut large turnouts for us sledders 2 that I know of this year, but we have also had to unhook the trailer and spin it around manually. Not too difficult especially once the sleds are unloaded.

ooooh wait yeah that whole side is a mess, I would completely avoid that entire area...no good sledding up there anyway;)

I wonder if I could take that contract to drive up and flip the switch. I'll take half the money they pay those guys to clear the road.:)

I'll do it for a tank of race gas:)

That trailer of your looks alot bigger on that narrow road.:p

kinda like when I first met my wife......I knew her small hands were going to make me look huge!

Girlfriends are fair game. Wives are OFF limits.
So...................................does your girlfriends small t!ts make it look big too?
