head studs?

Best to combine it with other stuff that can be done at the same time that has to come off to get to the head studs. Like exhaust blankets, charge tubes, vert post.

I agree with madmax, get everthing you can at one time. It depends on how many times you have done it, but it is a 3-5 hour project from start to finish if you are not doing anything else. All of the head studs I have been installing are accompanied by bigger turbo, vertical steering post, charge tubes, blankets etc, but it will be somewhere around $300-400 in labor if you do it by itself.

3-4 hrs if it is done all by itself. Little less when doing other changes in the same area with common work.

Head stud install

It's actually not difficult, no worse then working on any new car. It took just shy of 7 hrs for me to install head studs, BC Turbo, EVO BRV, header blankets, & intercooler fan. Worst part was figuring out how to pull all the plastic to get at the engine compartment.
A big thanks to JustBoostIt and Jim @ EVO Powersports for answering the few questions I had during the install - you guys rock!

One should qualify that Oneoldfart is a superstud and pulls wrenches for a living so we should all be so lucky. We quote flat rates for studs and the turbo. The variance in time for that scope of work has a lot to do with the removal of the turbo. I've done it in anywhere between 1.5-3. I've had customers breaking studs off and such which can make it 5 hours just to get to the reinstall stage.

studs

thx for the info guys! justboostit i ll be getting ahold of you in a bit to do the head studs for me,i have the blankets and the fan and some other stuff to put on and i m still thinking about putting one of those turbo kits on this year.

Then shoot me an email with a number and I'll call you. Very hard to get a hold of me at the shop. We are booking 3-4 weeks ahead in the shop and turbos after the Edmonton sled show will be very hard to come by. These next 3 weeks will be critical if you want turbo kits or shop time before the snow flies.

Just FYI for the Canadian crowd. We stock all the Evo parts at WKM as we are the Canadian distributor. I find some guys know that but didnt know we stocked the parts. No messy border crossings to deal with. I will only be selling m1100 parts at the sled show but with demand leading up to it will determine stock levels.
