Head Shim Question

I'm getting ready to install a Stainless Steel head shim with gaskets on each side and wondering what is the best sealant to put on the shim before. I see most use the copper spray, just wonder if anyone has had success with anything else. I was wondering about Yamabond 4 and how that would be. Just don't want to go through this again.

If your using a full stock Yamaha gasket on each side use nothing. If your only using one layer of the stock gasket use the copper spray.

Thanks I think I'll try that. Seems the stock gaskets have some sealant on it all ready. I checked my old shim and gaskets and it seemed to be leaking at the shim, so hopefully this will be better. Anyone else do two gaskets instead of splitting? Did it work better?

I went with a split gasket and copper spray. Worked good. I didn't want to lose that much quench with double gaskets.

I used 1211 sealant made by threebond i believe
