head gasket ?

I have a Yamaha Grizz 660 with a 11:1 piston in it and having a problem keeping head gaskets in it. When I first put h/c piston in it was fine till I overheated it, and it started puking antifreeze out the overflow.Had head resurfaced to make sure it wasn't warped. All was good till I put my stroker crank in and now it let loose again. Could detonation take out a gasket? It was pinging pretty bad on my last couple rides when I worked it hard. Everything was torqued as per Yamaha service manual.

Detonation can loosen head bolts but it's very rare. Usually it just hurts the piston. You might want to surface the cyl as well, and check your head again. Use very good gasket sealer on the head gasket when you put it in.
