head for a 900

yes it will help, not only with MUCH better cooling but it will give the rest of the MODS (SLP pipe/ECU Flash) more potential to reach optimum performance...

they are pretty pricey (get the SLP billet Head only IMO), but i have seen a few here and there on ebay, or swapmeet...

I have heard only good things about them. I dont believe you can run the T-stat with his head and the sled runs to cool sometimes is what I have heard/read for people who ride in very cold temps it could be a problem. Most people have of us would never complain about extra cooling from our 900s

yeh that head on ebay was mine...i was going to use it, but decided not to, didnt want to run a restrictor in the line to slow coolant flow (in turn would let the sled heat up for idle) but you could run the 900 too cold with the RKT, but in most cases not many issues with that..but a thermostat is always a safer choice..

that head only had inserts for 7500ft-up...and they changed domes every 2500ft..which could be a pain...new inserts were $200/set...

if you get a deal on an RKT, get it...(with the correct inserts) otherwise go with the SLP head or send your stock head to RKT and they will machine it and stick the inserts in your stock head (GREAT performance, and you use your stock thermostat)..they call this the "sleeper head"

Hey - Guido (sled is looking sweet) just wondering if SLP has different heads for the 755 (0'-5000') - if so (only because you seem to know where every damn 755/900 part in the world is) let me know if you come across a good used one!!! From the bit of research I've done seems like a decent improvement to the machine!!

LMFAO!!

about time you get back on here JOE... ;)

as for the aftermarket heads for the 06 700...i there is NOTHING on the market specifically for the 06 700 (755)

i talked to Kelsey (RKT owner) about their billet head on my wifes 06 700, and he told me it would work fine...BUT...

there is no way i can see an 900 head working 700...the 755 piston is smaller so the combustion chamber would have different amounts of air/fuel in it...

the only thing i would suggest, is talk to Derek Fischer @ Attitude Industries or Kelsey at RKT and see if they would be willing to compare the dome surface area and convert that info into a billet insert for your stock 755 cylinder head..

OR, to make this all easier...change the cylidner/pistons/head and flash the 700 ECU, and BOOOOOOOM...your rocking a 900 son, lol..

but seriously Joe...i dont think it would be safe to slap the 900 head on your sled :boom:

And thanks for selling it to me Giudo !! I have been looking for one for some time.
It's a hard item to come buy. I already have the needed inserts for the alt. that I will be running and have an in line thermostat housing already fabed up. When can I expect the head cover ? :face-icon-small-ton
