Yes, the traffic was really, really BAD. But overall, for a new location, it was good. Great racing, great freestyle show, good food and the swap meet had lot's of great stuff. As to the traffic, I don't think you can lay the problem completely on the Sno Barons. I think the "local officials" were not on top of it. While the Sno Barons had told them what to expect, maybe they could not comprehend how many of us 30,000 is and that we would all be showing up at 7am on Saturday!
The Sno Baron seem genuinely concerned about the problems and I think many of these problems should be ironed out by next year.
Not true. The city filed several petitions to not allow the SnoBarons to have the event, but they lost and look what happened.
They have owned that land for years and thats the best they can do ? BIR, State fairground would be a better spot ...

Fron what my friends in the club have told me the Sno Barons thought they had a couple more years at the old property and could develop the new land once they had the permits, but Columbus told them 2009 was the last year. The conditional use permit wasn't even issued until last year. Without that there was no reason to put money into a place that had no chance of having a race. Basically the 2010 race was put together in less than a year on property that had nothing done to it other than old buildings removed. Other places may seem like better locations on the surface but the fact is Haydays is going to live or die where it is now. Take the survey and let hem know what sucked and what was good. I wasn't even there this year and I threw in my 2 cents about all the crap in the swap that has always been there.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Actually the permit for the new spot was granted this spring. Additionally, financial constraints limited how much developing we could do at the new site over the last couple years. Afterall, we're a club not a business!!
p.s. BIR and the fair grounds are out of the question. Zero and I mean zero chance. Is the cost too high for renting those type of facilities?
