Haydays is sold out - there are no more swap spaces

According to their website they have sold all the swap spaces for this year. You needed to pre-register to swap there this year and they have sold all the spots as of today. http://haydays.com/news/index.html

They had new rules this year that sold spots in 30' increments - if you had a 33 ft rig you had to buy 2 spots. There may not be as many vehicles in the swap but this was done to try to eliminate the "junk" that took up a lot of space.

It sucks to be anyone from out of state who doesn't know about this because they weren't on sled sites during the summer and won't know about this until they show up Friday night.

Sure glad I bought mine early. I cant imagine how guys from Canada, East Coast, and Western guys that dont have internet access are going to feel when they show up Friday to only be turned away.

Or even the guys who have done this every year and never bothered to check the website about the new rules.

There should have been notices put out about this at last years event. I like the idea, but feel that the news about it should have come out other than just on their website and a few forums. A lot of people abandon these forums once the snow melts and a lot of people probably didn't even know they had a website.

You might get lucky and still find a spot, or, get there and set up across the street at a number of the shops. I looked last week and there were 300+ spots left, so I didn't bother getting in and really hadn't decided yet if I was going to, guess I'll go as a spectator this year.

Still the same spot this year, "supposedly" they have bought land and are moving next year.........

I dont blame them for doing this at all.....half of the stuff wasnt even sled related, not even powersports related.....this will keep some of the riff-raff out.

When they move next year to the new location it should be much more vistor/vendor happy...

There is a thread on HCS in the gen. snowmobile section with a snowbarrons member answering questions. I believe he said there will be some limited same day sites sold. I think if you want to swap pick up the phone and get a hold of someone, there might be some overflow options.

I'm hoping most of the junk dealers stay away this year with the increased rates.

The problem might be that most of the spots, already reserved, could be the "junk dealers"--"riff-raff". and then the "good stuff" guys might not get in?????

I'm not sure what is going on with the Snow Barron's. They seem extremely disorganized this year considering how long they have been doing this. Possibly some unforeseen hassles this year. We were on the list for months as a vendor and were told it shouldn't be an issue. Had to call 4 different people and 3 weeks after they said they would get back to us we just found out we don't have a vending spot! :( Pretty tough for any legitimate vendor to purchase and plan for an event when they don't even know if they can attend until just a few weeks prior. I can only assume they must be running into some issues with the county over land use or something. It seems odd as most years the vending area actually seems somewhat sparse of actual vendors. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to the event and at least I don't have to work. :D

"sink"

HOW MUCH?????!!!!!!! for the sink? an you guarantee me it doesn't leak?? What kind of warranty on it?? I have cash in my pocket!!!

that's too much,I just saw one cheaper back there!!!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt that they are keeping the washer, bald tires, china made widgets, sinks, broken kids toys,ect... out.. just cant see it happening.. With the 30' spot deal.. hopefully that will keep some of the overflow of vehicles out in there..

Still dont know if its going to be worth the trip or not..

i heard from a few guys that its not sold out..yes the website says that but they are keeping alot of the spots open for the guys who come without knowing the whole prebuy thing and dont get ****ed...

I believe the people who sell the trash at haydays, well, are just that. I think the idea of pre-buying a spot will bring in the people that have prepared, planned, and are in touch with technology. Rather than Cleo from the Eagles Nest Trailer Court pulling up in his 1983 Ford 150 with a pile of hub caps, sinks, pigeons, and to justify it all, one metal ski from a 1990 Ski-doo Safari. Now instead of walking by him in the Vendor/swap meet area and being absolutly discussed....you can point and laugh while your sitting in the traffic at 6 am trying to park.

Now this is just an educated guess of mine, and I see a lot of others points about how some good vendors will get turned away. As hard it is to see, this is the best year they could do it as it is there last on this land.....my .02

But only time will tell......

I have an extra swap spot if anyone wants it.
$60

Pm if you want it

Be careful selling or buying an extra spot. You will both need to arrive together for that to work. If you have questions about how to handle this use the "Contact Us" form on the sno-Barons web site and select "Swap Question" in the drop down box.
