Have you used Digis for internet service?

I am looking for more economical internet service than Comcast. I want good speed, 5 Mbps or better. I saw Digis has 5 Mbps for $35 a month compared to what I'm paying Comcast 6Mbps at $55 a month.

Do you have or had Digis?
How was the speed?
If you got rid of Digis why?

Quest DSL Doesn't seem like it is any bargain for close to the same $$ as Comcast. 7 Mbps for $60 (or $47 with 2 year commitment) if you do not have home phone service with them. They will knock $10 off a month if you have home phone service.

Any other options?

I had qwest, made fun of my buddy (and neighbor) who got Digis because of his little front yard sign!, he said it was great, but I said qwest is better. A few months later, qwest dropped our area in bluffdale and I went over to Digis. No little sign in my yard saying try digis ... But I must say it is far better than qwest was and it is faster than my business comcast line at the office. No regrets her.

I got it a couple years ago at home. It was 29.99 back then and only 2mps. I liked it so much I switched over to it at work. now I also have the phone service with it at home, probably going to switch my Bus. phone to it also. It's been good service and hassle free. I've been happy with it.
If your going to go with it make sure you use one of your friends who has it as a referral, it'll help'em out. They give a free month or 2 to them.

I have Digis at home and my business. A+ from me. Never had a problem! Don't make fun of the little sign. I don't know if this deal is still on but if you get 5 people to sign up you get your internet free as long as those 5 people are signed up. It's a pretty sweet deal. I think I need one more account signed up :)

No regrets though...

Twin user here too. Had it at work for 7 years now, 2 at home. can't beat the price.
Sometimes they do have spotty reception to their towers tho. Check with them to see.

thats what we have Digis for internet service? had it for about 5 years now its very good... and a lot cheaper..

Anyone use this at home that can tell me what they pay after taxes and everything a month? Thinking of switching from quest.

I had Digis 3 years ago when it was the only high-speed option I could get in the house I was then living in. It was HORRIBLE. (I work from home -- and I eat, sleep, and breathe internet, so a fast reliable connection is critical).

1) Unreliable: The connection was delivered over a WiFi antenna that was on my roof. About once every other day (seemed to be especially when I was pushing a lot of traffic through the system) the router connected to the antenna would freeze up and my internet would go down. So about every 2 days I had to reboot the router to get things back online. When I called their tech support, they suggested I try running some anti-virus and anti-spam software, and that might (somehow) correct the problem. (Yes, I'm serious.)

2) High latency: Since the connection was delivered wirelessly, the latency was off the charts bad. Forget trying to use any sort of VoIP service or video-conferencing.

3) Capped transfers: 3 years ago, they were limiting the total amount of data-transfer on a monthly basis to 3 gigabytes. For MOST people, this is probably enough -- but I would average 9 to 12 every month, and I paid them a ton of extra money in overage charges each month as a result. (In contrast, Comcast caps my monthly transfer at 100 gigabytes, which I've never even come close to).

I was screaming praises to heaven the day I got to give them the finger (I moved to a new neighborhood where I could get Comcast -- and I'm embarrassed to admit that dumping Digis was a big part of my decision to move).

Maybe they've improved in the last 3 years.. but I will NEVER go back.

We have had Digis at work for a few years and we are switching to Comcast as we speak.
