Haulmark Trailer Rusting Apart – Poor Quality – Terrible Customer Service

I’m not a contractor I bought it to move household furnishings. I towed it from Las Vegas NV to Washington State and parked it in the Driveway. It has not been moved since November. It’s had very little use. That’s right it was used for a Single Move then parked. And I washed the trailer including spraying off the underside with a garden hose at the end of the move.

Keep this in mind as you look at the pictures. This trailer was used 1 time to move household furnishings. This trailer was purchased brand new off a Utah Dealers lot, I had to travel to pick it up. And most importantly THIS TRAILER HAS HAULMARK UNDERCOATING!!! The pictures are already a couple of months old and nothing has been done so it’s surly worse now.

Haulmark Trailer
Model 7x16 Transport

Problem 1: Entire bottom is rusting out front to back, creeping up walls I’m sure. I can’t not emphasize this enough…this trailer was undercoated by Haulmark at their Utah Factory.

Problem 2: Screws are popping out and the Haulmark stickers are already peeling off.

Problem 3: Ramp Door Bar Assembly welded improperly making it very difficult to open and close and rubbing against ramp frame.

Haulmark has done NOTHING to help me with these problems. The dealer I purchased from has been fine and made a lot of effort to help me resolve these issues, but Haulmark has been terrible. I guess they don’t care about their dealers either.

One of the repair shops I had estimate the damages told me it looks like a weld is broken too.

You might want to think twice before considering buying a Haulmark trailer. And for those who don’t know Haulmark is a brand of Universal Trailer the makers of Exiss, Featherlite, Haulmark, Haulmakr Motorcoach, Sooner, and Wells Cargo.

If you want a poorly built, crappy rusted out trailer with terrible customer service and a useless warranty then by all means buy Haulmark. I should have searched the Forums BEFORE I purchased as I could have avoided this disaster – I’m not the only one who has had terrible customer service from Haulmark.

Looks like that spider has been peeing all over the underside of that frame causing it to rust.

Sorry for your troubles. My Cargo Mate has similar issues where no one is looking.

I can't comment on your other problems but as far as the rust goes, I owned a trailer once that looked about like that when it was nearly new. When I sold it years later it was pretty much the same. I don't think it's anything to stress over.

Featherlite.

X2 A quality manufacture, virtually 100% aluminum so no ugly rust ever. You have to pay for quality products, Don't get butt hurt when you buy the cheap disposable Walmart quality stuff and it comes back to bite you in the AZZ!

Spend a little more on a quality product and it will out last you, and ten to twenty of the Walmart quality disposables.

My Featherlite is 15 years old and other than the vinyl graphics fading from the sun and starting to peel off it is as good as the day I bought it. Invested $20,000 though with the upgrades; auto ingnite-thermostat controlled forced air heater, windows, inverter and lights, carpeted floor, aluminum wheels, etc. I've got way more use and miles on it than four of the Walmart quality trailers would survive.

For what it is worth, If you only intended to use it once and sell it, by all means get a cheap one and sell it when your done, before it falls apart.

It's your fault that it rusted. You shouldn't have towed over roads with snow melting chemicals.

Just like its your fault that your sled broke.

Love the support from business you get nowadays.
