Has anyone riden in the Gould area?

I haven't been up riding that area since a TnT on 11-29. Maybe two feet on long draw rd. Less in Gould. Drove over on the 2nd of Dec after a good storm and down in Gould was looking good, with about 3 feet of fresh snow. Since then it's been cold and overcast on the pass and about 2 more feet has fallen. Trails are probably in fine shape out of Gould, but for boondockin you'll have to pick your spots carefully. Finally a Northern based storm is coming through right now so maybe we'll pick up a few feet. Scenic area with the lofty crags, great trails, but you have to work for the boondockin. Maybe Skilaxn or CO2.0 will weigh in with a current report. I may head up tomorrow (an hour away) for another TnT ride, but it looks like it could be ugly up there. Most of my riding there is up above treeline where it's pretty good alpine climibing and stuff. More late season though.

Not yet, but Buff and rabbit ears is where I usually burn my gas:D No comparison for powder and boondockin. Cameron is in the snow shadow of the park range, and will always have about 30% of what Buff has, but there is some great riding/snow there if you're up for extreme alpine stuff. Other than that...the trail system is really cool, has some OK powder stash meadows and you can stop at a bar every 30 miles. Our local clubs have been trying to punch a trail through to the snowies trail network at Mtn Home, but it has a way to go, I think. From Gould, buff pass is about an hour drive away, you ought to hit it for comparison!
