Has anyone ridden in the Crustal Basin

I've ridden up to the wilderness boundary from the wright's road and then skied over to mt price. There's some fun tree riding and a little bit of wide open rolling granite terrain before you hit the boundary. I've only been back there to ski so I haven't really explored much of it.

Just don't be an idiot and give these guys more fuel for their idiotic fire.

People DO go xc skiing and snow shoeing back there.

Don't waste your time riding snowmachines out there, I rode there last week. It sucks, lots of people and twig pigs (usfs leo's) and not much snow. Looks like riding out in the wilderness after a strom would be pretty awesome though.

Be a man bro, don't make sh!t up, just to get your way. I'm no fan of all the wilderness boundaries and the like, but I'm not about to go out and lie the Cross Cuntry skiers (see what i did there) while being annoying have just as much right to be there as we do. If you're gonna fight do the right thing and fight fair guy.

Wow, I knew this piss someone off ! Yes it is here for EVERYONE thats what I was saying. If this crap has never happened to you then great , It has happened to a lot of us ride Hwy 4 and Hwy 108 and 88. They make sh!t up all the time about us who snowmobile ! Thats why Wilderness Boundary's have moved in and riding area's are getting smaller. I'm just stating a FACT!!:face-icon-small-dis

You should probably start writing down license plates. If someone's really swinging things at you, that's assault. Make an impression in the parking lot with an officer ready to confront someone on assault charges. I sure would, that's not something that should be tolerated or a part of anyone's day out in the woods.

As far as why wilderness boundaries keep encroaching: I'd say it has a lot more to do with the fact that any one of these public hearings that are held by congressmen/women, the forest service etc. are far more populated by those who want wilderness more than those who don't (sledders, mountain bikers, moto users). Go to some of the meetings being held right now about the possible plans of action for a lot of the property around south lake tahoe. Only in the last few years have the mountain bikers and sledders realize they need to show up to have their voices heard. 5 years ago.......it was like me and one other dude I know and about 50 sierra clubbers (most of whom obviously lived nowhere near the place because they were asking for restaurant recommendations after the meetings). They figured it out. Sledders need to as well. I've met a lot of people in the forest service over the years, and they're not evil. They just have more people in their faces wanting this stuff and it's their job to respond to it.

And on a more positive note, any of you guys been up wrights lake road recently? How's the coverage to the lake?
