i am setting a buddy up with some ice age rails to replace the bent oem rails on his 2012 rmk. i see ice age wants you to buy their 8 or 9 inch wheels. whats the deal there? if the stock 7.25 inch wheels work with stock rails, what is different?

70 bucks for a pair of 8'' plastic wheels is ridiculous. im just trying to save him some cash if it isnt needed....

The rail is built with the axle slot up and forward, imagine a built in offset axle.. People do it and it is not the end of the world, you will just end up at the end of the adjusters a little easier as the wheel is not taking up proper track length. Also they vibrate a little more since your dragging track off the back of the hyfax. BUT, they will work, seen it done many times.

Run factory 8" cat rear idlers... inexpensive.

.

Yep, What MH stated-
When we do a full turnkey skid with Ice Age rails on a K-Mod suspension- in the kit is the 8" Arctic Cat rear idlers.. " the hub style"
They bolt together and only run in the center of the rails.

Do you use the stock polaris axle? Also, what year cat would I look up to find these idlers?
