Has anyone put a gen 2 motor in a dragon chassi?

i have been going back and forth time and time again on this. is there anyway to put a gen 2 motor in a dragon 800 (2008) chassi? if so is there a motor plate or anything that would require something major? anything would help thank you for time

There have been a couple of fellas on here that have done this. I don't remember who, or know what to type in for the search. Talk to Brad at Power Addiction Racing for the motor plate. I believe that he goes by 1200psi on here.

Yep, I am finishing up my engine swap right now. I installed a 1998 700 Non-VES with 220 cylinders in my 2008 Dragon RMK 700 CFI. I ended up taking the engine out last spring due to a piston skirt failure which wiped out the case and cylinders. SnowRider 1 is right, get a hold of Brad at Power Addiction Racing and get his engine plate. That is what I did and I cannot say enough good words about the quality and fit. The engine plate is one of the most critical components of the swap. Everything builds off the engine plate as far as height and placement of the engine, engine to clutch distance on what belt you will be running, carb spacing to the bulkhead, steering post clearance, exhaust, coolant lines, pretty much everything! I also took Brad's advice and purchased a custom pipe from CPI which fits and sounds awesome with my HPS can. I opted to install all the electronics and carbs off a 2004 RMK 800 so I still had my PERC feature. In order to run the newer PERC CDI on my older non-VES engine I sent my CDI to Pro 5 and had it reflashed with the 1997 RMK timing curve. I also opted to gut the whole electrical harness and controls and purchased all brand new wiring and left hand controls so there is no electrical gremlins down the road. I am currently working building a custom air box so I do not have to run the pod filters. The swap is a pretty straight forward swap but does take some thought and planning to make it look factory, which I am trying to do. Please feel free to contact me if you need any additional information about my swap. THANKS!
