Has anyone powder coated their 2013 running boards?

I took mine to a body shop and they said they didnt want to because of the glue.

They used a industrial paint with hardner and it held up good so far.

From a previous post.

How confident are you in your powder coater?

Make sure that your parts do not get baked with others. (like fence posts or truck bumpers that need more heat soak)

Low temp powders.

Degrease, and sandblast or acid etch before the pow coater gets them.

Make sure that your pow coater does not do the typical "burn off" bake prior to powder coating..

The alloys used in the parts you've removed are pretty high end alloys... A normal bake or "burn off" cycle could serious weaken your parts. The running boards would be especially concerning.

Ask the questions before hand. I've seen some running boards that were rendered pretty darn soft after pow coat.

Yup I had mine done, and other than being stupid and not removing excess glue before hand, it went on without a hitch, glue seems fine.

I had mine done as soon as I picked it up. Semi gloss black looks great on the LE. Done glue in, no problems at all.
