Has anyone experimented with gearing?

Stock is 20/42 on the 11-12's not sure what ratio the 13's use on their belt drive.

Also just to give you guys a bit more info, I ride at about 2000 feet. I have a PAR 12.5 head and MDS weights with a Jaws can. Riding style is boondocking, drift bashing and climbing so losing top end speed is not an issue, just looking for more trackspeed and lowend! and once again thanks for the replies

EDIT: Its a Pro 155

gears

i have my 12 pro 163 geared down to 19top and 43bottom. my rpms and track speed went up from stock gearing, i really like the torque

I didn't experiment at all. I went straight to 21/45 (2.14) and never looked back. No funny clutching, just more overall happiness on the hill.

I dropped a 19/45 in mine, had to get a bigger chain to fit that combo.

I definitely picked up track speed. I think the max I saw on top end was like 78mph after the gear reduction, but I don't care cause I only ride DEEP POW!!!

when you gear down to a 19 t it is the top gear that you change. you use the stock chain. ya you will have to add weight to the clutch. i ride for 8-10 k and i run 65.2 grams. and make a few other changes. but stock helix works just fine for my set up.

I tell ya what Ive geared a lot of sleds down and for the money its hands down the most noticed change you will ever make to the sled. If you wanna use the stock chain and save yourself a lil money you can buy and top and bottom and go as far as 19/43 (2.26 ratio). Now if you really want a climbin sled that is even more unstuckable then before, giving you the hold on to your handlebars or your coming off feeling, wheelieing and just the all out feeling of more power. Go 18/46 (2.55 ratio) you will have to also get a different chain, a 74 pitch i believe. And will have to weight up just a hair (couple grams). This is a great combo on the pro, i have a 163 it wheelies for days when i want it to. heading up hill and need to stop its heads right back up, clutches run much cooler, and top speed is still 69mph. woke this thing up! good luck in your endevour and no matter what you choose if you drop at least 1 tooth on the top you will notice it!

Is that 69 on the spedo or gps? If so is it not reading off because of the gearing change? Just wondering how much it could be off on top end mph.

Gearing will not change the Speedo accuracy, it reads off the driveshaft. The jackshaft will be spinning at a different speed with gearing changes but the driveshaft would only change if you used diff drivers.
