Has anyone ever done/seen a 360 degree spiral roll on a sled?

Has anyone ever "spiraled" a snowmobile? Is it even possible? By spiral I mean rolling a sled 360 degrees in mid air (not a flip backwards or forwards). You would have to have a special jump, or hit it hard enough and fast enough to pull one ski up, and then lean like Heck. Anyone got a video...just thought it would be cool to see done. If anyone hasn't done it, who wants to try it?

You mean a barrel role?? If I remember right, I saw a show a few years back on the Discovery channel or some other channel that did extreme stunts and showed the science behind the stunts. I think it was Jay Quinlan who tryied to pull it off, but I dont think he ever landed it.

Edit: Did a lil searching....

I guess he never did pull it off, just run out of the will and replacement parts.

correct

Jay Q didn't make it due to a flat ramp, he tryed to pull the sled into a barrel roll in the air and came damn close if you ask me. I can't find it now, but I'm pretty sure I've seen some guys do this into a drift during freeriding. Can't go on youtube at work("Brodband, entertainment is closed due to limited data transferr":face-icon-small-con )but I'll check when I get home

kinda like the ole original stunt done in true life not green screen on James Bond film with a car! That was truely one of the best stunts of all time.

Alot of guys are pulling some serious whips these days. With how upsidedown they can get I can only imagine finishing it isn't that far away. Turcotte comes to mind, how bout it Brett?

sleds@vior hucks that stuff all the time

How did I know that was coming?

I have a sled vid from this year's releases that has a guy attempting and while he comes close he does not get a cigar. I'm not about to browse my library to find it but in the end his sled ends up catching fire and they are throwing snow into the engine compartment to extinguish it.

I did a 360 barrel roll by accident on a 94 Yami v-max 600. I was trying to keep up with the two guys at the front of the pack. We were going into a turn on the trail (out in the open where visibility was good) at high speed. I leaned hard to the inside, but drifted into the berm and lost it due to my lack of weight and strength. I flew off as the sled barrel rolled in mid air. The sled landed just right, rubber side down and didn't get a scratch. The only thing hurt was my pride. I did get right back on and go after chasing my sled down. It made good conversation at our next stop due to 5 people from behind seeing it happen! Glad my husband wasn't along on the ride!
