Has anyone else Broken / torn the quickdrive belt in half?

My buddy helped a guy out two weeks ago in Revy he stripped all but three cogs off his. No collar or updated shaft. He had less than 100 km on it, I've had no issues with anything 150 km on mine I do plan on getting a QD spare belt.

ANYONE getting a spare belt.... Make sure to get the install tools as well... Sure it is possible to put it on without... But a long PITA!!! Especially in the field.

Belts

I've seen a few QD belts in our area snapped and pieces missing. I really think its from the shaft not being straight. Also seen the updated shaft come apart. Once the driveshaft is taken care of I think any belt issues will be gone.

There are pics, i'm sure he'll post them soon. The thing just snapped in two. no broken/stripped cogs. Just snap... Bummer. He was just ripping a WOT pow turn and crossed over his own track and BING, SNAP! Bummer.

I agree. Could somebody breaking belts check their runout.

they broke with collars on?

Having the collar fix installed is not going to magically make you lower pulley run true. If your pulley has some runout there's only 2 ways to fix it. 1) a new driveshaft that is true or 2) take apart your current shaft and re-glue it together making sure it is perfectly true.

What i meant was if he saw a drive shaft break with the collar installed, he said an updated driveshaft failed. Sorry it wasn't clear enough.

I bet the battery tray is a real treat to get off in the field to change a belt. Have installed estart on one and a couple fasteners take a contortionist to ge to.
