wanted to know if anybody change out the track to a powder claw,or is there somthing better out there, love to have some imput.

I am running the camo extreme on mine, no d&r, it is an amazing upgrade over stock, and it bolts right in. I may d&r it over the summer, but for now the increase in performance is enough.
Deep snow performance is greatly improved, downhill control is the best I've ever seen not like the stock toboggan feeling, trenching is drastically reduced. I do suggest changing the helix and running delrins, the stock helix makes it trench worse, both with the stock track and with the extreme.

Have a 2.5" camo extreme without a drop and roll. It's a big improvment in powder.I would say it is one of the better performance mod's you can make on this sled.On the drop and roll,I might consider it for next season, for now I'm happy just the track.

I looked at those. My dealer said about $850 for that track. You can get a camo extreme 155" for $655 from tracks usa and I'm fat so a little more track would help.
sweet thanks for the info. ill look into those tracks and opps. ilove ridding my assualt but it doesnt like deep pow! thats why i ride it in spring, but i also have a deep pow machine for really deep days,i ride myassault as a back up pow sledd it does well but trottle control is key! going to load up now talk to ya later.

Saw a 155" 5.1 series track in a stock assault tunnel.

The guy said it worked fine might do this in the spring myself,

the 5.1 guys doesnt work real good in spring type snow..if it was me..camo-x 2.5 and run it all the time or the powder claw from cat..both work good in most all conditions...make sure if you are gonna run any track on hard stuff that you use both scratchers and wheel kits.....

Dude, if you are fat, then why did you get the shorty Assault. I myself often wondered how the 155 would work on it. I went the 800 shift route and installed a 153 Powerclaw with 155 rails. I had to buy some Van Emberg mounting brackets. The the track goes past the rear bumper but not far enough to look bad. The snow flap hangs over it nicely. I always wonder if the snow would clean out better if I had a longer tunnel. I did read on here a while back that putting a longer track/ rails messes with the suspension dinamics so look into that before you extend it. Just my .02
