Harts Pass or South Fork?

Whats gonna be the better ride friday??? Top of South Fork Gold Creek which is about 6500-7000ft, or... Harts Pass?... Ive driven up to Harts before but havn't ridin. Snow site says Harts has almost 8ft! Is the ride up to Harts dangerous? I drove the rockey road (in the summer, pretty scary) so I doubt we wanna try it with a trailer and snow... Do you park at the bottom of Harts and ride up? Just wanna make sure theres no HUGE drifts headin up the road to harts. Any help/tips would be great! And im still debating between the two places... Anyones welcome to join.

South fork is a lot closer, I just thought since its been warmer we'd have to get up higher either way for the good snow... Just not sure which one.

Both areas will have active avy potential. Last weekend I stayed at Echo Valley - not far from your Methow/GoldCreek. There were two layers of crust. Both of which I broke through and rode the sage brush.

To the cold of the north. That would be a good call for Friday. Worth the drive. I'm game and got room for one more on the deck from Ephrata. Besides that the roads should be open for me from here to there. Its a calling of the best kind I have my SPOT for these occasions. Just push and hold the 911 button for 3 seconds all good.

Yep, a few area up norht and at the hgiher elevations are getting slammed with snow in stead of rain. Although you may need to do about 10 miles of water skipping to get to the snow first..

You guys are absolutely nutz. Harts was slidin like crazy with 4 feet and with 4 more feet of heavy chit you are a sittin duck. One of my buddies got knocked off his sled and rolled in a meadow from a slide that came from wayyy up the mountain down through the trees. Let it set and naturally slide for a week and live to ride another day. JMO
