If i could go back in time and have a "do-over" i would join the marines or air force. We all have it so good here in the U.S.A. because of our veterans, and too often take it for granted. My generation and younger flat out embarrass me. I think the WWII vets are truly the greatest generation of all time.

Last Friday, the day after Vets day we buried my uncle. He was the genius that got me into construction...I love him anyway. Anyway he was a Korean war vet. He had a 21 gun salute with taps and a flag ceremony. That is the first 21 gun salute Ive seen. It was quite moving. I made thru everything, taps kinda primed the well, but when them fellers handed my aunt that flag that they took such care of...I lost it. Vets are a special breed for sure!

I went to a military funeral in Sept. The taps and the handing over of the flag is definitely something that rocks your world.

He went in style! Played 18 hole of golf 2 weeks before he died. Got feel icky and went to the hospital and passed. Wasnt in much pain didnt suffer other than dying in the hospital not a bad way to go? I dont want to linger. Go fast ya know.
