Happy Easter peeps (not the marshmellow kind either!...lol)!!
I have been asking myself all day how Christian humanity has allowed Easter to be minimized into dyed and plastic eggs, plastic grass, and candy???

I decided to study this subject with some of my free time. Here is what I came up with.....

Rabbits and eggs are pagan fertility symbols of extreme antiquity.

Birds lay eggs and rabbits give birth to large litters in the early spring these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth during the spring season.

Since Easter also occurs in the early spring, people brought the beloved pagan symbols into the Christian celebration of Easter.

These pagan symbols have become part of the Christian tradition. They do not take anything away from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and they add to the celebration.

Christianity has frequently absorbed the positive and neutral symbols of pagan religions while leaving the negative symbols behind, similar to Christmas trees and Halloween costumes.

With love in Christ amen.. :face-icon-small-hap Now I'm off to get some more jelly beans.

The same way Christmas is all about wrapping paper, candy canes, and a jolly fat man.

I dunno, perhaps because society doesn't want to accept the cold hard truth that you have to confront if Easter is more then bunnies and eggs. And for the record I don't like lots of candy and jelly beans.

I spent 20 minutes this morning trying to explain how the whole ressurection and heaven work....maybe that's why we have eggs, a bunny who hides eggs is easier to explain. Then it's just a silly bunny.

Ohh and happy late Easter.
