handlebars???

I have a 2011 hcr 800 and the handle bars feel uncomfterble to me. I race motocross and hare scrambles with two dirt bikes and have pro taper contour bars installed on both bikes because I am a tall person... so what I am asking here is that has anyone installed motocross bars or any other aftermarket handlebar to their sled? I would really like to know what other riders feel is a good bar.

Thanks,
Hunter

I did a handle bar "update" project last year and was planning on installing a set of cheetah racing bars but didn't want to spend the 200-300$ it was going to cost. I took the big clunky throttle block and high beam/handwarmer switches and relocated them off the handlebars. That alone was a huge improvement and just what I needed. If you are going to do a new handlebar set up I might recommend getting rid of the adjustable handlebar post. While somewhat convenient, they are weak and have play.

Here is the link to the update I did:

and here's a link to the CFR bars I hope to get at some point:

don't think I would et a delete kit cause I do adjust them often while I ride. sometimes trail riding up in Michigan but also raise them higher in the hills.
another question.. did you put handwarmers underneath the motocross grips?? or has anyone does this.? I had found a spare set of pro tapers in my parts pile and I was thinking of sticking those on but I would need to buy new handwarmer elements IF the grips would allow it

I kept the telescoping bar, just add a forward riser to see if that help my riding.
I used the warmers once and hated it so didn't put an other set. When i have trail to do, i put my Skinz handguards.

On the M, if you want adjustability AND a decent set of bars, look at the rox adj. riser, and a 2010 CFR steering post or one made by Wildchild/ canada sled parts (significantly superior but about $70 more) Doing that combo lets you have the adjustability, have an 1-1/8 bar, and gives the bars a fail point if you crash, the riser can roll forward or back & nothing breaks or bends.

every M I had after 2008 had the woods low bar (just works for my wrists) and that setup... also putting on handwarmers is totally doable, get the RSI ones, cheaper & better than OEM.

ONLY issue imo is that the brake side controls don't fit well on that setup (maybe different with whatever bar you like, but just a warning) so I had to put the controls somewhere else. (RSI makes a switch kit, I think there are others as well but I just moved the whole block down to the post I think it was)

well I have a bar riser already from this sled but took it off because it was useless at the moment... have powermadd hand guards also so that kinda helps out the hands. I think I might try taking my spare set of pro tapers and trying that out and will end up making a bracket for the controls. my steering post has a small amount of slop in I but not enough to make me want to buy a solid post because I really like the telescoping adjustment.
