Handlebar wires, how to clean up

04Cat 1M, added powermadd pivot riser and 2" block to it and the rats nest of wires look like crap. Does anyone have an extended bar wrap, or know of any other ideas to make this look better? Thanks guys, (and gals too).

I had to cut and lengthen all of them on my RMK . I would suggest soldering and heatshrink as opposed to crimp comnections for a better stronger connection .

If needed, lengthen wires frome each side then use the plastic wiring harness wrap that is split down the middle. Comes in all sizes and available at auto parts places. Cleans things up nice.

you can buy duct tape in pretty fancy colors these days. Green would look awesome. The stuff is pretty reasonably priced so don't be afraid to use lots.

Solder wires in. Digikey/allied/mouser has a wide selection of colored heat shrink tubing. There's some flavors of heatshrink that have an adhesive lining on the inside, pick up some of that if possible.

My oh my does that look familiar!!! We cut the factory plastic ziptie that Arctic Cat puts on to hold all those wires together and we pulled them apart abit so they could breathe. Haven't had a problem since!

Perfect

Don't like the duct tape idea, as the glue eventually seperates and makes a mess of things if I need to check stuff. Thanks though. I have lots of wire loom but won't fit over the 3 prong connectors, unless I use probably 6 pcs. then have a bigger glob of stuff. Thanks again.

MKlim--- Do you have a pic or a pt# for reference? This was what I was wanting to do. Just cover up all the factory 3-way plugs and junk. Don't want to strip the bars of the kill switch, warmer switches, and so on. Did that on my older cat's and was a PITA.

Thanks fellas.

I have even thought about using a velcro flea.bay type shock cover tucked up under the factory cover, but wondered if the excess fabric would bunch up under the tank shroud and bind up the steering, or if it would even wrap around far enough to secure the velcro.

Any thoughts on this idea????????????

The part number Mklim is talking about is 0705-350. I have done the same thing and it is a nice clean solution. You really should solder your extensions, at a bare minimum you should heat shrink those butt connectors.
