Handlebar Angle - How do you ride?

Hi guys,

My sled came adjusted that the handlebars are about 90 degrees.. meaning they lean a bit forward from where they mount to the steering post.

Sled is a 2016 SKS.

Wondering if this is ideal or should it be tilted a bit further back towards the rider?

Thanks,
Mike

All depends on the rider. I have my almost all the way forward so when your on a steep climb the bars dont hit you in the chest. Also helps when you need to get as far forward as possible to keep the front end down when climbing.

See the little numbers on the bars by the steering post -1,-2, =
+1, +2..... Thats your guide. Eric

Wow thanks I hadn't noticed those numbers...

I run with it in line with the post as well. Most control over the sled I feel and just bend your knees if your back hurts.

Inline with the post eliminates the swing/arc when turning.
I've found that to be the most consistent.

doesn't matter what i ride i try and keep as close in line with the steering post or forks as i can, maybe ever so slightly forward, on the polaris bars this puts the grip angle pretty much right where it should be

Can someone please explain how rotating the handlebars forward or backwards changes the handling?

Makes the handlebars swing and not turn naturally, like said above... Therefore when countersteering whether it's carving or sidehilling the sled doesn't react naturally...

inline all the way! I used to put blocks behind the top of the post to push the shaft forward back in the day. never tilted the bars just makes them swing when they turn
