handle bar riser on a 08 m1000

I just got a new 08 m1000 and im wondering what is the bigest riser i can put on them without having to do any extending on anything?

I have heard of guys putting the 09 extendable steering post on them? I am not sure if it's a straight swap or not? I would do this if I had to do it over again. I have a 4" on mine works great and I am 6'5" so if this helps? good luck. I do like the steering post though on my 09 M8.

Got a four inch Ole's on mine. It fit no problem. I re-routed the throttle cables is all.

A three inch will fit without any re-routing, a 4 inch will fit if you remove the "fire wall" that covers the steering post and re-route the plug ins to the outside. If you are pretty tall like me, the sky is the limit if you re-route your throttle cable to the right side of the motor and buy a fly extened brake line.
