Hand warmer issue

First, let me say I'm a electrical idiot! :)

That being said....My left side hand warmer is not heating up. I removed all the "plugs" and hard wired them all with butt connectors when I put my riser on.
1. Is there a diagram out there that shows the wiring and wire colors to the specific components on the left & right side of the bars?
2. Without leaving my motor idling the whole time, whats the best way to test the connections to track this down?

here is a link to download the manual it has the wire diagrams in it

Thanks, that's awesome info.
I should have said they have been working fine since I put the riser on about 2 months ago. I just took off all the rubber tape and covers...all the waterproof butt splices are intact and have not pulled out at all. I am able to track down the left side to just the 3 wires running to the grips....I have the brake control off and have the entire wire group, (3 wires, 2-blue, 1-brown) accessible. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. I know the switch wires coming out of the brake console work, because the right side is heating. So, it has to be from where the 3 wires splice off the main or the grip is bad...right?

Do heater grips "burn out"?
Could it just be old?
What is recommended to put back in?

I see that RSI has a "super hot" grip. I really need the heated grips, poor circulation in my habds make that my only Achilles heel while riding, they get cold easy.

you might have broken a wire in the insualtion when you were doing the work?

i have the high heat grip heaters from RSI, and they are great!

not very $$ so it might just be worth replacing them both anyways..i dont know if heaters really "go out" but i am sure over time they wear out or corrode im sure...

i would remove the grips and check for continuity in the wiring...easy quick way to tell if its shorted, or an open circut...

good luck bud.

Just a quick note, if it ends up you need a new grip heater and you go with RSI, they do work very well but the directions that come with them (color codes) are sometimes not correct. Do a search in IQ section for RSI grip heaters for good info!
