hand guns

I,m been thinkin about purchasing a hand gun for some time, and given the current situation I think it's time to sh!t or get off the pot.

I've been looking at the new sprinfield XDM and like the dual safety feature and 16 round capacity. i was wondering if anybody has anybody has any experiance with this gun, or what you think is a good gun.

I'm lookin for something pretty light to carry with me fly fishing, or mountainbiking in the backcountry.

Thanks :beer;

I have the XD 40 and love it. It has the a 12 round clip. You cant go wrong with a springfield you will be happy.

Always shot big bore revolvers until about a mo. ago. Was looking at getting something to pack while bowhunting and shot a couple of xds, rugers, and my buddies glock. Ended up picking up a 45xd compact. Bang for the buck I think the XDs are where it is at right now, 13rnd clip with the 45 and the gun is balanced great, light enought that its on the hip whenever im out hunting since I bought it. Never bothers me or seems cumbersome. Check around shoot a few that you might be interested in. my vote goes for the XDs though.

There all fairly nice anymore. I personally like the Beretta, because it fits my hand the best. I like how easy it is to field strip also. It does have the double cocking, which alot of people don't like, but if you just pull the hammer back, it's no big deal. I'd say go shoot a bunch of them, and decide what one fits you best. Get one you feel comfortable with, and just practice with it. You need to be able to hit your target. Having the nicest gun doesn't do you any good if you can't shoot it.

the springfields are nice. i havent shot the xdm yet but it looks pretty sweet. glocks are always good too, they have and excellent reputation. for carrying i have a kel tec p3at(.380) its pretty nice and its so small i always forget i even have it on me. which is a good and a bad thing at the same time.

Even though I hate to agree with a ute fan, :Dthis is probably the best advice you will get.
