Hand Guards...anyone ever try this?

I got tired of spending $80 bucks on sub-par hand guards.....nobody in the sledding industry has been able to produce a quality product like what the motorcycle industry provides for them....so I made some minor adjustments to what the motorcycles use and put them on my sled....so far the only negative for these guards is that they weigh around 2lbs each.

Looks nice! I do like the looks of the Skinz gear handguards...but nice job and thinking outside the ole box...by the way are those for dirt bikes?

Looks good, had them on my CRF. Only thing is, I've taken some good tangled and mangled crashes, I'd be half nervous my arm would end up through there and snap crackle pop.... Never did on the bike, but the sled is a whole different story.....

I run a finger throttle, so it's more necessary for me to run handguards. I've tried these, they work fine, but they really only offer protection from impact, but not really from wood.

I have a buddy with these:

They protect like the acerbis, but also work for wind. They're a really nice setup.

I have a pair of Sunline MX handguards that rotate. I never liked the rigid guards during my dirtbike days because of their lack of "give". If your hand comes off of the throttle and your body is going forward in a hurry, your wrist and or fingers are gonna get busted.
