Hand gaurds what one's r the best for the buck.

Ok i have been looking for hand gaurds form my sled. i have look at powermadd hand gaurds and the skinz . i like that point that there is no hardwear for the skinz but do the protect your hnads form tree limbs like the hard plactic powermadds one do.:present: i would also like to know what u think is the best handle bar riser out ther is i have a 06 755 and really dont want to extend the cables if i dont habe to but would like at least 3" to 4.5"

I really like the Skinz hand guards. They form more of a cup around your hand so it really keeps the wind off without limiting movement. Works good for wearing thinner gloves. They are pretty stout for being a fabric hand guard, but aren't going to protect you if you are bouncing off trees. However, I never found the plastic ones to really protect either as you usually end up bending the mount. Hope that helps.

I have a set of red RSI handgaurds with billet mounts lightly used I would let go for a good price. I don't have room with my protaper setup.

Guards?

I used to run Powermadd hand guards but now... I dont run any. It seemed like they would get in the way when transitioning on the sled and they never truly provided much protection anyway. I also have a very light weight set of Polaris hand muffs that I can put on the bars for the trail ride and remove once Im at a nice play area. Good Luck:beer;

I would buy the polaris hand guards, they are made to fit the sled and I think they are even cheaper

X2 What Fullmonte said. I have the Pro Series Skinz and they replaced my Powermadds hand guards.

I have the polaris handguards on mine. I like them except the mounts are the weak point. I have had to buy another set of the mounts. Machined aluminum mounts would stand up way better than the Polaris mounts. I do like the handguards though.

Skinz for me. Keep your hands warm without breaking or bending when you tip. If it is nice i take them off. Will never go back to hard ones. I have some polaris ones for dragon that i will sell . Allso have polaris under seat bag and shovel bag to get rid of. They have 160 miles of use.

I'm with the others on the Skinz hand gaurds. They are easy to put on or take off and keep your hands out of the wind. I don't know about the protection provided, I bought them to help keep my hands warm. My sled looks like a Skinz advertizment I think they make great stuff.

hand gaurds

I had powermaid and they bend into the handlebars and mash your knuckles
I got the skinz gaurds and love them they don't bend. they are easy to take off and put in your bag and they are warm
get the skinz you'll be happy

kind of off the subject- but has anyone managed to fit handguards on the Pro Taper Assault bars... looks like it could be tricky. Im thinking of going with the Powermadd guards- just because they have my color scheme. Thanks!

I'm actually getting rid of my RSI guards because I switched to protapers. Everything is tight because of the down radius is kinda early.

I'll be getting Skinz handgaurds as soon as I sell my PowerMadds(red/black).

i have the polaris mounts and guards - I tighten mounts just enough to keep from moving so if i do put it on its side they just pivot out of the way-and they are mounted on protapers

Just becareful on a roll over w/ these Polaris mounts, they're made of pot aluminum. Broke one last season tried to tig it back together, even thought of trying JB weld:o they will set up nice to protect but once put to the limit, check behind u as ur buddies will be handing u ur hand guard. The powermadd will not fit on pro taper unless u do a complete revamp of the location of brake levers and throttle on the bars.
