Halfway Riding

Yep talk about foggy , and deeeeep, amazing how nice it was on the scneiders side normally dont even ride there. Fog did not help the trail ride, which everyone used this week end it was a bumpy mess. Couldnt see too good every hole looked good hence the big stuck in the creek pic,<j_man pics>

Worth Coming that way tomorrow?

Are you gusy getting any new snow is it worht making the trip from Seattle this weekend? any info is appreciated. thanks.

supposed to be new snow but the snow that is there already is plenty enough to ride anywhere on the mountain and good powder, look at all the pics the last couple weeks, I met people coming from Portland area, and we had sleds come up from Ca., of course that has changed now they are getting a bunch

Just info please

I apologize if I might be in the wrong thread....

My wife and I are rolling into town one week from Wednesday in the evening, I was hoping someone could tell me if the resturants and a bar may be open or does town sometimes shut down during the week? I am from a small town, I know sometimes things close up early if it is slow.

Also, what might be the best parking area to hit on Thursday, as the rest of the weekend we will be riding out of Cornicopia and range will be limited from there.

Thanks in advance.

everything seems to be open to at least 6pm, and the bars usually are open a bit later, there are 2 of them and a couple of stores and 2 places to get gas, they are open to 6 also, cornucopia usually will have a barrel of gas for you out of the parking lot,but ask them about that, no cell service up there, maybe stop at Baker and top off with gas and make sure your sleds are topped off if you are getting in later, only one main sno-park, they have new maps off the area out at the stores and restaurants, I think we are ridng that week end also

You shouldn't have any problem finding services that weekend. The Annual Ladies Ride will be in town. If you want prime rib at Stockman's on Saturday night, you should call them and get your order in now. (I'm not kidding....) :D

Depending on your arrival time on Wednesday evening, you might want to eat in Baker before heading into Halfway. That's what we usually do.

Just got home from riding over there this weekend, and we had a bad time (Lied). I'll be posting pics here soon on Saturday's ride, it's was abit foggy today and we were to busy bustin' thru the snow to get to the top. Got a text from a freind over there and thay said it's dumping over there right now!

Oregongirl is not kidding on the ladies ride, pre-order your prime rib if you can, also Wild Bill's have good pizza.

Like Blue said, top off in Baker City, I go to the Co-op there in Halfway to get my gas they have Premuim.

Be prepared the town will have lots of ladies, and we are there to RIDE!

Is the riding any good west of cornicopia? We hit the lookout to the east last time I was there but visibility was limited at best, but that was good country

Here are few pics of this weekend, can't wait for the ladies ride now. :D

Cornupicia side has some good riding there, you'll won't have a problem, get a map in town, and check it out.
