Hahn's Peak Lodging Options

Hello fellow snowmobilers!

So, our group from MN has been making annual visits to the Steamboat Lake / Hahn's Peak area since about 2009. We really like the area and will keep coming back. The snow has always been good to great, and the terrain is awesome.

The only drawback we've found is the lodging options. Not that there isn't lodging available, but it's tough to find something that works for a group of 8+ guys.

We've stayed in the cabins at the Roadhouse as well as a couple of homes we found on VRBO (we literally had the perfect spot a couple of years ago until they stopped renting weekly!).

We are considering the Midnight Ranch because of it's location to the north (area that we have not explored much). Sounds like most folks have given it favorable reviews?

Can anyone point us in the direction of some other options where we could all stay together? We would like it to be in fairly close proximity to the fuel at the Roadhouse.

Thank you! We are looking forward to seeing "Welcome to Colorado" a few times this winter!

We stayed at Dutch creek guest ranch a few years ago. It's just down the road from hanhs peak. Great food and low key.

Fuel and Great Place!

Stayed at Midnight Ranch last year with eight guys. Great Time and quick access to backcountry. I have been riding the area since 2000. He had fuel last year.

Stayed at Midnight Ranch twice last season. Steve is great! Very cool place, plus ride in, ride out. If you don't mind cooking your own meals it is secluded and very private. Fuel right there and Steve is great to deal with! It gets a thumbs up from our group!!!!!
We have reservations for Wildskies in December. I know it is early but hoping to hit it like last December at Rabbit Ears. I'll let you know after our stay. So far Lisa has been great to deal with as far as reservations and questions we have had. Keep doing the snow dance for us in December!!!!
Hahns Peak is also a great place to stay as well. No cooking involved staying there. Food is awesome at the Road House! Been a few years since we have been there but stopped for dinner there on the way up to Midnight Ranch last year. Great food and beverages.

Yes dutch creek was bought out and no longer ran as a guest ranch. Private ranch now.

Columbine Cabins are good.

Also, Hanhns peak Roadhouse (used to be Steamboat lake outfitters) is a great place to stay. I recommend this place!

Thanks for your help, everyone.

It sounds like you are confirming what we've found in our years going up to Hahn's Peak - tough to find lodging for a larger group!

We've decided to try Midnight Ranch this year. Having never stayed there, we like the proximity to some of the northern riding areas that we haven't explored much of.

It looks like we should check out Wild Skies and the Flat Tops area some time.

Thanks again. Please post other ideas if you have any!

P.S. Ryan - Yeah, the accommodations last year were ok, but the location wasn't the best... Do you still have the phone number for the place you guys stayed at a few years ago? Hopefully we can work out riding together again this winter, and it's sounds like we'll see each other next summer at the beach, too!

We did the Road House last year and enjoyed it. Our group is trying Glen Eden Resort this year. I loved being able to ride right from the cabin at Road House so I'm a little concerned about Glen Eden since we will have to trailer each day. We'll see -
