HAVE A 07 M 1000 WITH A Y PIPE ON IT AND A CAN. WAS WORRIED ABOUT BURNING IT DOWN SO I GOT THE RECALL DONE WITH THE 09 FLASH. AND SHIELDS. FEELS LIKE I LOST 30 HP PLUGS ARE BLACK AND WET. I HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE FUEL PRESSURE REG. ON IT RUNNING AT 48 PSI. DO I ADJUST THIS DOWN TO LEAN IT OUT. OR GET A BOONDOCKER BOX. I AM TAKING IT BACK TO DEALER TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO. THOUGHT IT WOULD JUST RICHEN IT UP A LITTLE BUT NOT MAKE IT RUN SO BAD. AN SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP:help:

Back it down to 45psi and check plugs after running. You may end up down around 42-43psi before it runs decent.

I have the same issue..I had the update done on my it loads up on the bottom and mid range..what I have found out so far the update works great on the 09 and 10 but because of porting on the 07 and 08 do not run as well...I'm waiting to find out if there will be a new update on the 07 and 08..I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this asap..let us know if the fuel pressure fixes it that would be nice to know..... Thanks

I'm having the same issue with my 08. Where can I get a fuel pressure regulator? I don't know much about them, how do they work?

Thanks,
Jim

TALKED TO DEALER TODAY SAID HE IS GOING TO REFLASH IT AGAIN

HE TOLD ME WHEN THEY HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER TO BE REFLASHED THERE IS SOMEONE ON THE OTHER END AT CAT PROGRAMING THE ECM. I AM A TECH AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP. WHEN WE REFLASH ECM, IT IS A SET PROGRAM. I DON,T KNOW TAKING IT IN TOMORROW.

they all use the same cylinders so the porting theory is no good.

I THOUGHT IS WAS 42-47

yes this is the serviceable specification for the stock fuel pump. If when working on a stock sled the fuel pressure is below or above the spec the fuel pump must be replaced. In general on a stock sled anything over about 44lbs results in an overly rich sled.

I would certainly suggest adjusting your fuel pressure to work with your mods and the new flash. the system is automated and verifies successful transmission. There is no one on the other end doing it. The reflash is calibrated for a 100% stock configuration.

When you have a modified set up and have it running well with whatever calibration changes you have made you can't expect a new map loaded in the ecu to run right without adjusting the calibration for your mods.

Again, I say.........start backing down the fuel pressure until it runs right. There is no need to take it back in. For what? You already have the update now. Just take it down to like 43 or so to start with and work down more if needed. You will probably end up around 42psi or slightly lower before it runs decent, but that is for you to find out by checking plugs. Don't waste your time by taking it back in. That's what it will be.....A waste of your time.

THANKS FOR THE HELP I WILL TRY THAT. IS A BD BOX ABLE TO LEAN OUT THE EFI

I AM THINKING ABOUT A EGT GAUGE TO WATCH MY EXH TEMPS. ALSO WOUNDERING ABOUT A BOONDOCKER BOX.

All capital letters is considered yelling. Sorry, I just had to say something, my ears were starting to hurt. :focus:

Lower your fuel pressure, get EGT's if you don't trust your plug reading.

Don't start jacking your fuel pressures around without a set of EGT's or A/F guage.

It is very hard to read piston wash on this sled without a scope. You can pull your PV and take a look but you can't see the entire top of the piston.

Plug readings are ok also. But I can tell you from experiance. You will have a nasty lean spot around 6000 rpm. If you dial in your fuel pressure to run perfect on top and clean up the bottom you will be lean around 6000.

So get some guages before you burn it down.

It's going to be VERY hard to "take the freaking thing in and let them fix it" running an aftermarket Y pipe and can. You have to understand, the dealer is only going to stand behind stock! You put this post up trying to figure out what to do with your bad running ecu update. There have been several guys suggest to you what to do. Either listen or waste your time.

buy the koso's and take the freeking thing back in and make them fix it.

my flash went awesome.

I have been listenig

Is it ok if I get several input on the subject. The adjustable fuel pressure reg. y pipe and can was installed at the dealer I am talking with. but I agree with you I will most likely have to play with fuel pressure. But if they what to help I not going to say no.

What altitude are you at?

I have seen some sleds that don't like an intake, and some the don't like a Y pipe, I've seen both of these work with the Y & intake. If you're at low elevation this will need a fuel reg.

Try a few things & see what works. OR you could try to get your dealer to help...:fencing:

ive heard too many stories of guys running these pipe/can/y-pipe and whatever else M1000 sleds with no fuel controller.....sure some of them work, but most dont, or atleast we only read about the ones that dont

you can get a used or refurbished box for a great price...

ive got a bone stock 2010 that needs a fuel box for the mids......99% of peolpe would not notice it, but i do...
