Had a car crash through our fence and roll into our yard tonight

The door bell rings (the kids expect gramma to be showing up from out of town any minute).

Nope.

It's the neighbor kid.

"Uuuuuuh I went through your fence."

"What do you mean?"

"I drove into your fence."

"Where?"

"Next to your camper. I tried to push it back on to it's wheels but I can't get it over."

"You mean you crashed into our yard with your CAR?"

"Yeah."

Uhhh, OK. You crashed through our fence and wrecked your car into my yard. Are you OK?"

"Yeah. Can I use your phone?"

He tries to call dad and mom but couldn't get a hold of them.

We go outside and his car, with headlights still on, is laying on the drivers side facing out toward the road. It took out 6 sections of fence. Sirens were already on their way as I came out around the garage to check it out. The neighbors had watched it and called it in.

3 fire trucks, sheriff and state troopers showed. They waved off the ambulance before they actually arrived so they didn't actually show up and charge money.

It was a circus at our place tonight for two hours.

I'll get some more pics in the morning when the sun comes up.

LOL

I'm just glad the kid is OK. He's a pretty cool kid and he's responsible enough to get my fence taken care of. His parents are good too and they are holding him accountable for it. LOL

Sucks man, good to hear he is ok though. Crap happens at that age, will be good for him to take resposibility and fix it. If it happens will be a good growing experience for him.

holy chit! sounds like he didn't even think it was a big deal. I know if i was young and did that, the old man would have wooped some azz!

hahahha.... when my parents were selling the old house, some lady fell asleep at the wheel, plowed through the intersection and took out 3/4 of the side yard fence, then ran into the back of my dad's escape.

The house has been bought and sold twice since then, and nobody's put up the fence that this lady drove through

I'm just glad to hear the dogs did not eat him!!:D

Sorry Scott but the whole time I'm reading this I'm thinking about the pie incident!!! LOL

wonder if he saw the sign saying to not leave packages inside the fence?

How did it happen Scott, just being a kid and messing around or what?

we have a back alley at our house. I have a 2 foot high enclosure for garbage as we have lots of coyotes in the area. it is very solid with a concrete blocks on the bottom and 4 x 4 posts.

A couple of weeks ago, I am leaving the house and the garbage enclosure is laying all over the back alley. It is like it exploded, there are pieces of wood everywhere.

I am pretty angry and start cleaning up. Under one large piece of the enclosure, I find most of a front quarter panel for a S10 GMC truck. Some kid must have been drunk and had an OOOOOOOPPPPPS experience.

Never did find out who did it but it is going to cost him a lot more than it will cost me to fix the damage.

Did grandma get freaked out with all the cops out fromt when she showed up?

Oh yeah...she is a fricken drama queen already...that just made it worse.

LOL...I don't have a lot going on...but that was one of the biggest events lately. LOL

I said he was going 50 when I quizzed him. He told ther sheriff he was going 45...I'd love to hear what he told the tropper when he was sitting in the car for an hour....I'm sure you can always add 20 or 25 mph to get a more accurate number to that claim. LOL. It's a dirt road he missed a curve, over corrected and plowed through my fence.

chiity deal! but now that no one is hurt, pretty funny too!!!!!! i wonder if the fed-ex guy will still leave the pie on the doorstep though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

WE had a kid like that knock on our door at 2;30 one morning. He had wrecked his car and wanted to use the phone. When he got an answer finally he says "hey dad what are you doing?" I just broke up, what would you be doing at 2;30 in the morning?

Funny stuff we do as kids.

Years ago in high school I was flipping donuts in the road after a wonderful storm put 8 inches of snow down and tried to do a Dukes of Hazzard around a 90 degree turn and instead of turning went right into a guide wire for a electricty pole!!
sparks were flying from all the wires and as I looked to the west the whole town was dark LOL! had to buy a whole new pole that cost 2 grand!

Dad wasn't to proud that day!!! LOL :)
