Guys with gooseneck trailers

This is for gooseneck trailers only. what is your opinions on a v-nose gooseneck versus a flat front. I've heard different views both ways, so I turned to the peeps with the best knowledge. thanks for your input.

The big drawback of the flat front trailers is clearance to the back window of the truck when turning. They pretty much require a long bed truck to keep from busting the back window out. The extra room in the nose is nice for stacking gear. In my older Haulmark flat-front here is a generator, air compressor, and misc. truck/trailer equipment storage in the front that is closed off and there is still just as much room to stack bags as my buddies newer Trails West v-nose gooseneck. Wind resistance doesn't seem to be much, if any, worse. It's the side winds that are the worst with big enclosed goosenecks and the V-nose doesn't help you out there.

Try to get at least a tapered front. Not many do the sloped front. Jensen and trails west are the only ones I know of. Any time you can narrow the profile, it will pull a little easier. Not a lot but some. Plus the tapered nose looks nicer.

Unless you are putting a bed in the gooseneck I would go V-nose. Then when you go to sell it more people will be able to use it. I think the wind resistance benefit would be minimal.
