Guys with Contour Cams,, how do you know its on?

Anyone figure out a way to check to make sure it's on? other then someone look at it, or taking your helmet off?

Thinking of putting something reflective on my glove so I can see the red light on it.

Dam video I have has everybody's face in from checking for me.

It doesn't beep? Maybe the settings can be changed so it beeps? My GoPro has a distinct recording beep and a distinct stop beep.

contour and gopro both make a loud beep that can be heard over a sled? Do you not trust the fact that you just slid a large "on" switch into the on position?



Plus when you turn your contour on it turns on the laser pointer for a few seconds...put your hand in front of the camera right after you turn it on...see laser...its recording

My guess is that he is asking this when you can't remember if it's been idle for 15 minutes or more and has shut off. The only way I know if to shut it off and turn it back on to here the beeps.

I don't think it beeps when you slide to record, only when turning it off and on correct diz? With that said if it's been idle for 15+ minutes and has shut off, sliding the record botton will not do much good and you don't know it as it's not made a beep. I have not used mine much so lean on dizz as he is the contour guru here...

the new contour roams don't use a stand by feature anymore. Its either on and recording or off and not recording. With beeps for both. Much better battery life than the older ones.

Beeps and the laser sights. You can't hear the beeps over a loud sled. I turn my bike off, slide the bar into the record position, wait for audible beep, head out and tear it up.

I turn mine on and off a lot, saves time when editing.

If I am unsure if it is on or off, I just hit the switch and listen for the beeps.

Mine beeps EVERY TIME I turn it on and when I slide to record.
And the laser lights work when I turn it on too.
Handy to have those so you know if you have your lens turned at 90° or up straight the proper way.

You do have to have a little memory as if you have turned it on and left it recording for awhile. It's like did I fire 5 or did I fire 6 ??? Oh yeah It Beeps !!! >>>>.

I can't hear the beeps, My problem is when the battery gets cold it shuts its self off.

But i figured out that even when its recording that you pust the power button on the back the laser sights come back on.

Still I get parniod of missing all the action. I bought an extral charger and 2 extra batterys so that will help the poblem.

The reason the camera is turning itself off it not because it gets cold, but because it's trying to save battery power. Around 10 minutes of no use and the camera automatically shuts off. Otherwise you'll eat up that battery pretty fast. Having an extra battery is always a plus anyways. You'll run out of battery power before filling up a 16GB card on HiDef settings.

Mine beeps when you slide the record button on and off. I believe there is a mute option for the beep. If you can't hear the beep put the stock can back on the sled.
