Gut stock air box, increase in sound.

I gutted my stock airbox and noticed quite an increase in motor noise.
It sounds like a tractor just prior to the Brrrapppp, when you get on the pipe.

Anyone else notice that ?


Im suprized i havent heard any comments in these links on that.

yeah, that is 100% normal and expected. That air box was really more of a noise dampening system than air intake

Imagine yourself talking with your mouth wide open all the time instead of closed..... Now (still with your moth wide open) breathe in then out!

I have a custom intake made from a short length of 3" aluminum pipe (some guys are using 4") with a K&N filter sitting on top of the belt guard. Very, very, very loud intake system, but worth it for how well it works. Let that beast breath !!

that is funny cause i run the cpi too but with my new intake this season my intake is louder than my exhaust
