Guardsman Pass closed to sledders?

One Wasatch. If you haven't heard of it yet just google it. It's a plan to connect the ski resorts again. They just released a map of the proposed connection between Park City and Brighton. The map shows two new chairlifts going in immediately above where the Guardsman pass road is closed for winter. One lift would go up the ridge to 10410 peak accessing brighton through hidden canyon. The other would go up towards park city. If this happens, what will become of our sled access to guardsman pass? I can't imagine we will still be able to ride up the road to the pass if there are ski lifts right there. I hope hope hope I am wrong.

I hope not. I read everything i could find about it online and didn't see anything mentioned about sled access. Save our canyons opposes it but i doubt they'd have our backs in a fight. They hate snowmobiles way more than ski resorts!

Considering its all private land we dont have much choice. Hidden canyon is all marked up for the lift already with home sites subdivided ready to go. There will be million dollar homes in there soon. Guardsman will be closed to sledding at some point in the next 5 years. The writing is on the wall. All though I am not sure what they will do with the road... I think by law state highways that are not plowed in winter are open to snowmobiles, so they will have to do something different there?

The one you should be worried about is mary ellen and dry fork in AF canyon.

Maybe we'll be able to access it from brighton estates. Guess i need to make enough money to buy something there.

I can't believe grads an hasn't been closed off to us by now. Great to be able to run up to a place so close. It'll be a sad day when it's gone.

When its developed Guardsman pass road will be reconstructed on the midway side. Once its developed I believe the only sled access will be form the midway side where the cabins are. What is at risk with dry fork? Mary Ellens is also private property, dry fork is not.
