Gripper Skis on 02 Edge

I just purchased a set of used gripper skis will they bolt right on my 02 edge or do I have to change somethings? Also I'm taking off Sidehillers what will I gain and loss in this swap? Thanks

Old thread, I know...but can anybody else confirm if grippers will work on an '04 edge chassis spindle? Do they need shimming at all? (The skis are off an '09 dragon if it matters...?)

Again they work with no shimming or any thing i have them on my sled no problem

Can anyone who has actually done this confirm that the rubber saddles fit as well.
Or, do the stock edge saddle rubbers fit into the gripper skis properly??

Any pics...

I know that the SLP skis, Slydogs, Simmons, C&A, etc all have differnt saddle rubbers/mounts for the edge and IQ sleds

Last year I put a set of grippers on my 04 edge switchback. You have to use the edge rubbers. The edge rubbers are not as long as the Iq's but once the skis are bolted to the spindles you will be fine. I used begstrom tripple point carbides for the grippers that came with rubber shims to make sure the entire carbide contacted evenly

hope this helps!!!!!!!!

Adobe,
My understanding (I may be wrong) is that the distance from center of ski bolt to the bottom of the ski / carbide is different though, so that for aftermarket skis there are different mounts between IQ and edge chassis sleds. Like the distance is greater on the IQ, but not sure of that. Worst case it makes your front end a little higher but if it is only a half inch or something I doubt it would make much difference, you could always let out limiter straps or drop the front mount to the bottom hole (if the edge has one, my gen2 did, just had to drill it through).

The rubber saddles will work in the Grippers as long as you use the Sidehiller II saddles for an edge.

The way I have done it cause I have diffent skis and have an IQ and Edge and just have the bigger rubbers.

I put the rubber in the skis and the sindle ontop of the rubber. Since they don't line up I get the nylon strap tiedowns and wrap them under the ski and over the spindle. Then I ratchet it down and line up the holes. If they don't line up easily and have time I tighten them down and leave it that way for some time like overnight.

Next day go ahead losen up and use a prick punch or pin alignment tool and fit the bolt thru.
