grinding reverse 09m8

got a friend of mine that is saying when he engages his reverse it is grinding somewhere!

he has an 09m8
he has a different helix,(46/40)

where to start?

is the helix made for the 09 or is it made for the 07-08. They are different.

let me clarify,
after he has engaged his reverse, when you start to throttle up it wont engage without grinding.

not sure on the helix?
ill try and find out....


its probably the helix not aligning with the secondary and grinding on it somewhere.

i have the RK-TEK secondary on my 09 and if the secondary isnt completely closed when i engage reverse the little alluminum dogs don't catch on the helix and it makes a nasty grinding sound. when i gas it and the sled doesn't want to move. make sure the helix has the notches cut in it for the engine reverse.

if your helix is the right one and it is engaging in eaither the dogs like on rkteks kit or with the roller your belt is spinning in the secondary could be your belt deflection is off i built my kit kit from various different parts did the same thing till i finally looked and set the blet deflection now it works great
