Met Matt, who I met on here, for the first time at the trailhead. Me, him and 2 other buddies headed in. My buddy on my M1000 only made it a mile or so, and the 1000 died. Not sure what is up. Met some other buddies in the parking lot and sent Mat with them while I screwed around with the M1000.
Finally gave up and my and my other buddy headed in. Went to Murphy, then up and over to Squaw. Got to about 8200 ft. Snow was actually really good up top, if a little lean in places. Plenty of untracked powder and climbs. Snow was really good in the trees. Didn't go higher, but I bet up at 10,000 on North Murphy, it would have been really fat. Snow was maybe 3-5 ft with no base between 7000 and 8200.
Haven't seen Matt, but I know my buddies were going big, so we will see how his day went when he gives me a shout later. His truck was still at the trailhead when I left.
Well, this was my first big ride on the M1100T and had a blast on it. Not a cloud in the sky and warm.
Might hit Togwotee tomorrow, but might go back to the Alpine.
