Greetings from Priest Lake.....More Pics added
We were supposed to head north to Whistler area, but with the weather forecasts, chose Idaho instead. We got lucky!!!
Spent Wednesday at Gallagher, waiting for a straggler that thought work was more important (what a LOSER...)...
Turned into a garage sale. On Chaincase, one of us didn't make it up. Slipping through the 2 inches of fresh to the ice underneath made it sorta hard to do. We headed back down, in reverse, going downhill, still going 25, 30mph; no exaggeration. The stuck sled had headed down, solo and we were in recovery mode.
She had rolled a couple (dozen) times. Extra oil stored in the beast exploded like a zit. Handle bars?? well, we fixed them. Red neck style
Ok, screw this. Onto Idaho.
We've had two stellar days. Whitefish is here, and a few others that lurk on the 4m. Six total yesterday; 9 today.
Snow is sucky below 5800'. Rock hard. Above that, it's carving heaven, untouched (well, not anymore). I've never been here, but we spent all yesterday and most of today up the '44' and '43' roads. Wow, there is a lot of area to burn up...
Pics..
My only proof that I got off the trailer with my sled
Whitefish in the air...
and carving it up;
Hard lessons about gravity and lack of commitment..
And why we do this;
One of the riders had had his "donut" removed from his pipe on the trip over (by his "friends"..) He blew a belt about 6 hours into the first day pulling a good size, few mistakes allowed hill. Soon as he came down, he was frantic to tell us something was wrong. An exhaust donut wzs laying on the pan under his pipe...? WTH???
Pic of everyone looking concerned, with a straight face.
Great times... lots of miles.
