You may have to share the "road" with some jeeps, since the entire area is open to wheeled vehicles, but there is still plenty of snow up there.
I was up on Sunday with some friends. We unloaded at Mike's Rock (above the upper gravel pit) and rode in from there. There were two small open spots just above there, and it was down to about 10 inches packed on the roadway where we parked, other than that, it looked like normal winter conditions. Other than some wheel ruts from the jeeps, the trail was actually better than most mid-winter days last year, with only smaller bumps in the usual areas. Still had 2-3 feet of snow at the Government Meadows cabin, with the jeeps mainly heading over Pyramid pass and down the east side.
