Well I hope for everyone's sake that that goes up tomorrow that the groomer/plow driver makes a better decision and removes the berm at the end of the pavement. REDICULOUS. 1" of new on the pavement and 2" on the gravel does NOT constitute closing the gate. Came down this afternoon on pretty much 2-3 miles of gravel. Did he not think it would warm up (like it usually does) and melt everything down low?

Rocks and dirt do not cool these sleds down! Had to stop 3-4 times and wait and find snow to try and cool it down. Not to mention wearing hy-faxes, ski skags, etc.....Not a good way to break in a new sled.

Frustrated. It was good up top though, just should have been able to drive to the upper parking lot is all.

Ya , meadows are good, did a little riding in the trees, windy gap needs more but can play a little there.

Sounds like the groomer taking pictures of the rigs that drove up the road past the gate today and sending them to the forest service so they get tickets no snow from the gate to the Y at north face road.

ya, that sounds about right........let a little authority go to your head and cloud your judgement.

That's just plain silly. I had the same prob as op yesterday. Had to stop twice to cool down on the way out.

dry all the way to the upper gravel pit.

I won't ride on gravel, I have worn out carbides and this Saturday I was learning to ride a Snow Hawk.

We parked on the upper gravel pit.

I dumped it on the gravel at the hairpin turn. I do not want to ride on gravel.

I tried it briefly under adverse conditions. the weather was bad and the hawk was not set up.

With Tony "the SHA" spending literally hours I was able to get the hawk set up and now its a different story.

It is awesome. I had a great time ! I only crashed a couple of times and it was in soft snow. I now have the chance to understand how to turn and how the hawk likes to run at high speeds, before it feels rite.

I hit a hole and flipped over the bars but it was all good, would have been the same on a snowmobile.

Then I shared it with my brother and two of my other friends we all had a great time.

Only complaint is the amount of gas this thing uses

so far I think its my favorite way to burn gas.

sent the wife a spot location just so she wasn't worried.

I am so happy to be over the hump,I can say it is a whole lot of fun! I can't wait to get better at it.

Also my friends and brother really liked it.
