Great riding locations

Hello I am planning on taking a trip to colorado to do some riding in early Jan. and was wondering if anyone could provide me with some good spots to go around the Denver/Evergreenish area to go. Any informantion would be helpful and please be specific on where to go and head out form. Also, if anyone would like to ride let me know I'll be around for a few days and wouldn't mind being shown to some local good riding areas.Thanks.:beer;

Me and my buddies riding abilites are very good to excellent, we are all snowcross and hill climb racers and have done our fair share of backcountry and off-trail riding over the years,so for the most part we are not lacking there. However, our avalanche knowledge is fairly low to poor. We are all willing to do some extra research and planning though to prepare ourselves for the area and terrain as needed.:beer;

What is your crew's riding ability & avalanche knowledge level?

LMAO:D .....what insurance coverage do you carry?.....how do you feel about sliding down behind your cartwheeling sled?.....fond of children? wife? or the value of life in general?......on a scale of 1 to 10 where do you rank pure ***ggging terror as a legitimate adrenalin fix?. Just kidding and spinning off. Sounds like your as prepared as most, just get a local to keep you out from under the slippery slopes.

depends on the length of drive you want. I'd say from Denver if you start early, you could hit Jones Pass, or Grand Lake on any given day easily, or hit anything out towards Steamboat, i.e Rabbit Ears, or even up to Vail Pass, or Spring Creek. There are other smaller areas that are good but are not as well known except by locals.

I live in the Bailey area not far from evergreen. I would recommend Georgia pass nice trails to the hill climbs. or head up to the vail pass area the I-70 corridor has lots of areas to play just about a 2 hour drive from evergreen.
